The Beginning

As Salaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu!

This blog is about an American revert to Islam and her daily struggle to fight for the custody of her son, Ilyas, who was taken from her due to her reversion.  Her story begins here.

  1. I look forward to reading this blog regularly. But I have a question:

Why do converts to Islam often refer to themselves as “reverts” rather than “converts”? Why not use the generally accepted term “convert”? The implication (that one is born a Muslim and is “reverting” back to Islam) comes across as both arrogant and also desperately insecure.

Still, I wish you all the best in seeking access to your child – no good mother should be separated from her child.

  2. yesssss they r reverts , not converts , u skevos urself were born muslim.. don’t u see that the islamic monotheism is realy easy to figure and to understand ?? don’t u see that saying >>>That there is no creator , or he is an energy without intention or a maind , or saying he created us and went to do something far away without sendiong messaners , or saying he is a one god in trinity ,,don’t u think that all of that is fighting with ur pure mind??
u r muslim by nature , just reas the isamic monotheism know it ,, and u will say:yes , islam matches with my nature , and if u realy truthful like the sister who is writing herstory , u will say :yes she reverted to her nature
thank u for ur response take care .. may Allah the creator guide u and all of us his straight path (*flower*)

  3. Allah says:
    2. Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: “We believe,” and will not be tested.

    3. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test)

{And we will surely test you with some fear, hunger and shortages of property, people and produce. But give good tidings to the steadfast. Those who, when a calamity befalls them say: “We belong to Allah and to Him we return.”

what is important is this world is a test and that all Allah wants to if we learn lessons from from hardships for example, the soldier is trained before s/he goes the battle field, doctors study 15 years before they …., anyway, Allah trains muslims everyday to make their faith stronger and reliable. We need to learn lessons of patience, sacrifice, and sincerity from those obstacles, and we will be successful inshallah. amiin
